Amidst the chaos of the day, we managed to fit in a writing assignment. To prepare the students for writing their sentences, we made a list on the board of all of the people we “love.” The students were very creative and soon we had all different types of pets on the board too! I made a worksheet that repeated the same sentence several times (I love my____.) in which they could trace the words and fill in the blank. The last couple they wrote independently. Here are a couple samples:
