Love is in the air, and we need new activities for our math tubs. Our math curriculum is covering counting numbers 11-20, using 20 frames. I made Valentine’s 20 Frames for my students to practice counting on.

Counting using 20 Frames is a popular way to teach students to count, group numbers, and to quickly recognize an amount between 1-20. These sheets are designed to use as centers with manipulatives. I found small, heart erasers that the students used as counters, but you can use anything! Here are the heart erasers that I found at Target:
This is aligned to the Common Core Content Standards:
K.CC.A.1: Count to 100 by ones and tens
K.CC.B.4a: When counting objects, say the number names in the
standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number
name and each number name with one and only one object
K.CC.B4b: Understand that the last number name said tells the
number of objects counted

Oh, so cute! We are doing a lot of work with our 10 frames, and this would be a great extension! Plus I think I have some heart counters from Target last year 🙂
